Korea is a vibrant country filled with wonderful sites to see and lots to experience. There are just tons of must-see attractions and to-do activities whereby visitors could experience, especially during the spring season! The fresh blooms will surely brightens up the day; bringing joy and lifting up spirits with their astounding natural beauty. Here, we have compiled a list of must-visit places when you go to Korea this spring! Korea’s colourful and unique tour attractions now await you to explore.

Saying it with Spring Flowers

Jinhae Cherry blossom festival (Jinhae gunhangje)

Famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms, the southern port of Jinhae hosts the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival when the cherry blossom trees bloom from mid March to early April. The most famous spot to check out the blossoms is the Romance Bridge over Yeojwacheon Stream. Additionally, there are also other good spots for cherry blossom viewings such as Gyeonghwa Station, the ecological park in Naesu-myeon, Jehwangsan Park and Korea Naval Academy.

Dalmaji-gil cherry blossom

Dalmaji-gil, located at the winding road from Haeundae to Songjeong along the seashore, is a beautiful road that overlooks a fantastic view of the coast. This place boasts beautiful cherry blossoms and pine trees.Take a stroll along the beautiful road in the moonlight and check out the Busan lovers’ favourite dating places because of its romantic atmosphere created by the moon-shaped street lamps that illuminate the surroundings. It’s a 30-minute walk connecting Dalmaji-gil Road, Dalmaji Garden Trail, Dalmaji Oeulmadang and Kudeokpo.

Jeju canola flower

The southern Jeju Island ― where spring first arrives in Korea ― is covered with yellow canola blossoms from late March to early April. The city of Seogwipo hosts an annual canola blossom walking festival at Jeju Sculpture Park. Other recommended places worth visiting include areas such as Mt. Sanbangsan, Seopjikoji, and Seongsan Ilchulbong. Come spring and the road to Jeongseok Aviation Pavilion in Gasi-ri, Pyoseok-myeon will be lined up with canola blossoms. The awe-inspiring sight got the place into Korea’s 100 most beautiful roads.

 Hwangmaesan Royal Azalea festival

Hwangmaesan is stunningly portrayed during the spring season when royal azaleas are at their full blossom. Meanwhile in summer, the hills will turn into a vast field of greens. Unlike other mountain tops, this one is located on an extensive open area and one can truly experience the change of each seasons. Visiting the mountain is really convenient as there is a road that will take you to the mountain top, and if time permits, hiking up to the top is recommended and you will surely be wowed with the magnificent view from the peak!

Maisan Provincial Park

It is located in Jinan-gun of Jeollabuk-do. It was initially called Seodasan during the Goryo Dynasty, Yongchulsan but changed to its current name, Maisan, during the Joseon Dynasty. However, Maisan is interestingly referred to by different names depending on the seasons. It is called Dotdaebong in spring, Yonggakbong in summer, Maibong in fall, and Munpilbong during the winter. Take a hike up to the mountains if you’re the adventurous one or take a stroll around the park to witness yourself the beauty of Mother Nature!


Boseong green tea festival

Boseong’s famous green tea fields were first planted in 1939. Green tea grew popular as word spreads thanks to its appeal as a health and beauty product. Today, Boseong produces 35% of Korea’s green tea. In addition to that, the Boseong Green Tea Festival is held every May at Daehan Dawon, the town’s most famous green tea plantation. Visitors can enjoy a variety of programs, including tea-picking, tea-roasting and tea-making.

Jeju self-drive

You can enjoy one of the most beautiful scenery in the world when driving in Jeju. Foreign tourists will need an international license in order to drive in Jeju. Just a reminder! South Korea’s cars keep to the right side of the road.  Worry not as many car rental companies in Jeju offer vehicles equipped with English GPS.

Cheongdo wine tunnel

It’s a place where you can let your hair down in the scenic location and its surrounding orchards at this Cheongdo wine tunnel. Several activities you can enjoy here which include learning about persimmon wine-making, exhibition, wine sampling, exploring the wine market and enjoying refreshments at the cafe. It is the perfect toast to mark your memorable visit to Korea.

Busan Premium outlet

Comprised of two basement levels and four above-ground floors, the Lotte Mall – Dong Busan Branch was constructed with the concept of Santorini Island in Greece in mind. Sinchon & Ewha Fashion Street (Seoul)

Sinchon and Ewha Womans University are both connected neighbourhoods which are constantly lively and filled with youthful vibe as its vicinity is surrounded with top universities such as Ewha, Yonsei and Sogang University. It is fun to explore, and one can definitely satisfy their shopping cravings with rows of alleys between Sinchon Station and Ewha Womans University Station that are filled with apparels and accessory shops, shoe stores, shoemakers, clothing tailoring and mending shops. The Sinchon branch of the Hyundai Department Store is also surrounded with variety of restaurants and of affordable prices. Definitely a paradise for bargain shoppers and food hunters!

Gwangbok-ro Fashion Street (Busan)

Gwangbok-ro is a street full of youth and energy. It is also called Gwangbok-dong Fashion Street as it is being hoarded with clothing stores, attracting tourists with all types of merchandise catering to different tastes, ranging from products of renowned high-end brand names to low-priced products intended for export.

Dongseongno fashion Street (Daegu)

Dongseoungno street is a major fashion district in Daegu. The streets are packed with hundreds of stores full of personality that reflect the city’s fast-paced fashion trends.
