Recommended Attractions (2014 Autumn)
Starting your trip from Busan and making it up to Seoul, we have compiled a list of must-visit places when you go to Korea this autumn! Busan, which is fast gaining recognition as a key tourist destination, is the gateway to neighbouring provinces such as Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do.
Among the upcoming hot visitors’ spots are Naejangsan, Mount Maisan, Jeonju Hanok Village, Naganeupseong, Suncheon Bay Ecological Park, Suncheon Bay Garden and Muju Ski Resort in Jeolla-do, and Oedo Botania, Tongyeong’s Dongpirang in Gyeongsang-do.
Naejangsan National Park
A ‘must visit’ site this autumn is Naejangsan National Park – Korea’s most beautiful maple viewing site. Sandwiched between the Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do provinces, the park’s picturesque path leading to the Baekyangsa Temple is lined with hundreds of gold, orange and red maple trees that will take your breath away.

Mount Maisan (Tapsa Temple)
The mystical twin peaked and horse’s ear-shaped Mount Maisan or Horse Ear Mountain is another unique attraction as its rocky backdrop of honeycombed cliffs feature about 80 conically shaped ‘tapsa’ (stone pagoda temples) that were hand-built by a hermit as a mean of self-cultivation. Since then, most visitors have stacked different sized stones to form their own mini towers, believing that the stones’ positive chi (energy) would make their wishes come true. Others place coins into different nooks and crannies of the stony outcrops, hoping for their wishes to be fulfilled.
