Muslim Familiarization Trip Dec 2014

KTO Activities : Muslim Market Familiarization Trip 

Due to the increase of interest in Korea among the Muslim tourists, KTO has organized a Familiarization trip with the selected agents to check the places and restaurants that are Muslim-friendly besides exploring the spots that are beautiful during spring season. We covered a few places of interest around Gyeongju, Busan, Geoje and Jeju Island!

On the first day of the trip, we went to Gyeongju to visit Bulguksa Temple, the World Heritage site which is popular during spring season. After we had our lunch at a nice Korean vegetarian restaurant, we then continued to visit the Bomun Tourist Lake, Cheonmachong Tomb & Chumseongdae Observatory, Anapji & Donggung, Gyeongju Centre Market and Gyochon Hanok Village before heading back to Busan. While in Busan, we spent our nights at Commodore Hotel.

On the next day, we went to experience the thrilling Oryukdo Igidae Skywalk. The weather was windy and really cold but from the skywalk we saw someone was swimming in the sea ocean! We then proceed to Shinsegae Centum City, the largest shopping complex in the world, recognized by the Guinness World Book of Record! After that we went to visit the Busan Al-Fatah Masjid and had our lunch at a Turkish Kebab restaurant that is located near to the mosque. We moved on to visit Haeundae Beach and Dalmaji Road before went for our dinner which we had some delicious fresh grilled seafood! We passed the famous Busan Cinema Centre and also the Gwangan Bridge to enjoy the night lights scenery before headed back to our hotel.

On the third day, we went to Taejongdae Park, where the famous white lighthouse is located. This park is famous as a filming location for a lot of K-Drama! We then proceed to visit Gamcheon Cultural Village which is also known as the ‘Asian Santorini’. After we had our lunch at a Korean vegetarian buffet restaurant, we went to Yongdusan Park to see the Busan Tower before headed to Gwangbok Fashion Street, BIFF Square and Gukje Market. We went back to our hotel after the dinner at Jagalchi Market.

The following day we went to Geoje to visit Oedo Botania, the beautiful garden island where the last kiss scene from the drama Winter Sonata was filmed. After that, we went to have our lunch at a Spicy Octopus restaurant located near to Hakdong Mongdol Beach before proceed to see the Windy Hill. For dinner, we had grilled fish at a restaurant located near to Jagalchi Market before went back to our hotel.

We departed to Jeju Island on the fifth day of our trip. After our lunch, we went to visit the Gimnyeong Maze Park which was also the filming location for the famous variety show, Running Man! We then proceed to Seongsan Ilchul Peak, Seopjikoji and Aqua Planet. We ended our night by having dinner at a Halal Indian cuisine restaurant located at Daehakro Street before proceed to Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel.

On the next day, we started the day by going to the winter event at Mt. Halla organized by Jeju Tourism Organization. After lunch, we proceed to visit Jusangjeolli Cliff, Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, Teddy Bear Museum and Alive Museum. We drop by the Aero Space Museum where it was a filming location for Running Man show before we went for a dinner at a healthy Korean vegetarian restaurant.

On our last day, we managed to visit the Jeju Nature History Museum to learn more about Jeju Island and the directly to the Jungang Underground Shopping Mall for a quick shopping. After that we went to a Shabu-Shabu (Seafood Pot) restaurant to have our lunch before heading to Jeju Airport to catch our flight to Busan to get back to Malaysia.
