I will be travelling using Korean Air. What are the charges for extra baggage?

For Korean Air, the charges for excess baggage for passengers travelling to Korea from Malaysia or Malaysia to Korea will be:

  • ECONOMY CLASS – A passenger paying an Economy class shall receive a free baggage allowance of one piece of baggage the weight of each piece of which shall not exceed 23 kilograms (50 pounds); provided that the sum of the three dimensions of each piece shall not exceed 158 centimeters (62 inches). In the case of excess baggage, the charges will be applied as below:
  1. The 1st extra piece of baggage : KRW100,000/USD100
  2. The 2nd extra piece of baggage or more : KRW150,000/USD150
  • FIRST/PRESTIGE CLASS – A passenger paying a Prestige class shall receive a free baggage allowance of two pieces of baggage the weight of each piece of which shall not exceed 32 kilograms (70 pounds); provided that the sum of the three dimensions of each piece shall not exceed 158 centimeters (62 inches). In the case of excess baggage, the charges will be applied as below:
  1. KRW150,000/USD150
  • Pooling of free baggage allowance – When two or more passengers, traveling as one group to a common destination or point of stopover by the same flight, present themselves and deliver their baggage to Korean Airlines at the same time and place, the passengers shall be permitted, upon request, a total free baggage allowance equal to the combination of their individual free baggage allowance. The weight or the number of pieces of baggage in excess of the combined free baggage allowance shall be subject to excess baggage charges.
