Menu for this cooking class
1. Stir Fried Gochujang (약고추장)
Yak gochujang means medicinal gochujang in Korean because one of the ingredients used in this dish is honey which is used to be considered as medicine in the olden days of Korea. Its flavor and texture are enhanced by adding some fine meat (usually minced beef or pork) as well as other seasonings, which includes some honey, and you stir-fried it with a gochujang sauce (chili pepper paste).
2. Bibimbap (비빔밥)
Bibimbap literally means “mixed rice”. It is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sauteed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang (a fermented soybean paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The hot dish is stirred together thoroughly just before eating.
