Established and operated by the KTO KL office since November 2008, Korea Plaza is the only Korea Tourism and Cultural Centre in Malaysia. Situated strategically at the groud floor of Menara Hap Seng, in the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur, Korea Plaza is easily accessed by public transport such as Putra LRT (Dang Wangi Station or KLCC Station) and KL monorail (Bukit Nanas Station or Raja Chulan Station).
Monday-Friday : 10am to 7pm
Every second & forth Saturday : 10am-3pm
In March and September, Korea Plaza is open on the third Saturday, from 10am-5pm.
Korea Tourism Consultation/ Information - Prospective visitors to Korea can visit Korea Plaza to collect guide books, brochures, maps, discount coupons, as well as receive consultation about travelling to Korea.
Hanbok Trial - Visitors to Korea Plaza can put on Male, Female and Children hanboks -- the Korean traditional costume in gorgeous colours and take picture, for free.
Multifunctional Room - The public/ organization may borrow the multifunctional room free-of-charge to host Korea-related events/ activities, with prior reservation. The room, with audio-visual equipment such as a projector, 32 inch Samsung TV, speakers and a blackboard, with capacity for 50 people.
Movie/ Drama Showing - Korean movie/ drama DVDs are available to be watched at the multifunctional room.
FREE Korean Cultural Classes:
Korean Language Class -- Conducted by native Korean lecturers. One semester consists of 16 lessons, held once a week with 2 hours in a lesson. The Feb-May semester 2014 has just commenced, the schedule and registration for the upcoming June-Sept semester will be announced on www.visitkorea.com.my and www.facebook.com/KoreaPlazaKL by end of May.
Korean Cooking Class -- To be held twice a month, on every second and fourth Tuesday, from 2-4pm. About 2 dishes will be taught by a Korean chef each time, with hands-on and food trial session available. Announcement will be made before each class, and email registration is needed.
Kpop Dancing Class -- To be held twice a month, on every second and fourth Friday, from 2-4pm. The class has been filled up for the time being. Annoucement will be made again when the new class is available.
Korean Make-up Class -- Korea Plaza collaborates from time to time with Korean comestic brands to organize make-up classes, whether it's a by invitation or open to public event. Time and dates to be announced.
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO)
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) was established in 1962. It is a Korean government-owned organization acting as the central force in developing Korea’s tourism industry. The organization has focused primarily on improving Korea’s tourism environment and promoting Korea as the world’s leading travel destination.
KTO is also largely involved in the innovation of new tour packages, while constantly stimulating the Korean tourism industry via promotions and marketing.
Recently KTO has been focusing on the theme of Hallyu (Korean Wave) movies, dramas, music and food, which has led to the development of a series of Hallyu “Korean Wave” tour packages.
KTO’s headquarters is located in Jung-gu, Seoul. The organization has 27 overseas offices in Asia, America, Europe and Oceania.
